Barbara MacKay, MS, CPF©, principal of North Star Facilitators, specializes in strategic planning, facilitation processes, training, and consulting. Barbara is currently mentoring facilitators from all over the world and cares deeply about passing on the skills to others so the world becomes a just, peaceful and creative place. Barbara’s strong interpersonal communication skills and experience allow her to work skillfully with a wide variety of participant perspectives. Barbara specializes in helping groups participate, problem-solve, plan and make progress in challenging and complex situations. She has an energetic, respectful style and clear delivery. Barbara has worked with 100’s of clients from all sectors with her own company since 1995. She has provided social, economic and environmental consulting and facilitation services to many cultures throughout Canada and the United States, among several other countries.
Caliph Assagai, Esq.

Caliph began his career working in a start-up non-profit in his hometown of Sacramento before taking on the role of Legislation and Public Policy Director for the National Alliance on Mental Illness-California. He then founded Public Interest Advocacy, a boutique public policy firm representing non-profits before the California legislature. His clients included the California Public Defenders Association, California Children’s Defense Fund, the Sustainable Economies Law Center, and the California Endowment. During law school, Caliph earned specializations in Public Interest Law & Policy and Critical Race Studies. He worked as a summer intern with Legal Services of Northern California and the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office. He also served as a Professional Graduate Mentor in the UCLA School of Law Office of Academic Outreach, assisting students of color and other disadvantaged students with the law school application process. Caliph enjoys advising students on selecting positions within public service that best align with their skill set, interest, and desired impact. Caliph spends his free time exploring San Diego’s hiking and running trails, surfing, and working out.

Tenneson Woolf is a facilitator, workshop leader, teacher, blogger, and coach committed to improving the quality of collaboration and imagination needed in groups, teams, and organizations — to help us be in times such as these with consciousness, kindness, and learning. He is a long-time steward of The Art of Hosting, and long-time student and practitioner of presence in circle. He posts a daily blog, Human to Human, in which he offers reflection on varied aspects of participative leadership practices, insights, and human to human depth. Tenneson lives in a small town where urban meets rural, Lindon, Utah, at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains. He is originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
